OwnDeck privacy policy
This policy covers OwnDeck, published by NKS Hub, including version 0.1.0. Updated October 25, 2026. Contact: dev@nks-hub.cz.
Your Nextcloud account and data
OwnDeck is a client for Nextcloud Deck. It connects to the server you choose. It reads boards, cards, comments, labels, assignments and attachments from that server and changes them as you instruct. It does not send this content to analytics or error-reporting services. Your server operator controls other users' access, backups and retention of your Nextcloud data.
Signing in gives the app a credential for your Nextcloud account. It is stored using the operating system's secure storage. The app does not create a separate NKS Hub account. The camera is used to scan a QR code when connecting a server. File access is used for attachments you choose.
Data on your device and removing an account
The device stores a local database of accounts, downloaded data, drafts and changes waiting to sync. The app also keeps local copies of attachments. These support offline work. They remain until the relevant cache is cleared, the account is removed or the app's data is deleted.
Removing an account in OwnDeck deletes its local data, cached files and stored credential. The app also tries to revoke its app password on Nextcloud. If the server does not confirm revocation, the app informs you; revoke access in your Nextcloud security settings. Delete files you exported outside the app from the locations where you saved them.
Removing an account from OwnDeck does not delete the Nextcloud user account, boards or server files. Ask your Nextcloud operator to delete your account and server data, or use the functions provided by your server. Normal item deletions in the app sync to the server under its rules, including any trash and backups.
Optional diagnostics and analytics
Official builds include two services with separate switches: Sentry error reporting and Rybbit usage analytics. Both are enabled on first use. In “Diagnostics and usage”, you can turn off “Error reporting” and “Usage statistics”; your Nextcloud connection does not depend on them. Builds without configuration for these services do not use them.
Sentry helps diagnose errors. It receives an event time and ID, app version and environment, a general screen category, an allowed error code or type, and a limited stack trace of app code. Error messages are replaced with a placeholder. The client strips user profiles, network request content, user content and action history. It does not send screenshots or screen recordings; performance, session and native crash collection are disabled.
Rybbit measures app launches and general screen visits. The client sends the OwnDeck identifier, version and environment, an allowed screen category without board or card IDs, and an app-open event. It does not send your Nextcloud account identifier, server address, card titles or content, search text or attachments. The installation identifier generated by the library is removed before transmission.
A network server sees the IP address when receiving a request. Rybbit derives a pseudonymous visitor identifier from the IP address and client identification for app statistics. It also derives and stores approximate location from the IP when available: country, region, city and approximate coordinates, as well as time zone and network information. This is not the device's GPS location. Storing the full IP address in OwnDeck analytics events is disabled. The visitor identifier currently does not rotate daily and can link visits on different days; it may change when the network connection or client identification changes. These statistics are therefore not entirely identifier-free. Screen recording is also disabled on the server.
Retention, opting out and deletion requests
Diagnostics and analytics are received by self-hosted Sentry and Rybbit instances managed for NKS Hub. Sentry's event retention is configured to 90 days; removal occurs during server cleanup. Rybbit events currently have no automatic expiry and remain until manually deleted. The local analytics queue is limited to 100 events and discards entries older than one day when processing them; this is not the server retention period.
Turning a service off stops further transmission from the app. It does not itself delete events already received by the server. For questions or requests to access, correct or delete diagnostic and analytics data, contact dev@nks-hub.cz. Include the app, approximate time and version; do not send passwords or private card content. Because telemetry is not linked to your Nextcloud account, we may be unable to reliably identify individual records. We will explain the available options if this applies. Direct requests concerning your own Nextcloud data to that server's operator.
