NKS Web

Content management system that runs most of the websites in this portfolio. Each client has their own database and template.

Preview of NKS Web

NKS Web is our content management system for running many websites at once. Anyone who runs a dozen websites has two options. Either each site runs on its own WordPress or other CMS installation, and then ten installations get updated, backed up and monitored separately. Or all of them run on one system designed for that from the start. NKS Web is the second kind: it runs the websites in this portfolio, nks-hub.cz included. Each site has its own database, its own template and its own settings; the code is shared. A fix or a new feature is deployed once and every site gets it at the same time.

Why not ten separate installations

With separate installations, every security fix is applied as many times as there are sites, and each site ages differently over time. NKS Web has one core that we write and run ourselves. A client website therefore does not start from an empty installation but from a template on top of finished features: articles, categories, sitemap, RSS and structured data only need design work, not programming.

What the sites and their readers get

  • Articles have a permanent URL in the form /nazev-clanku-a123, categories live under /rubrika/ and tags under /tag/. On e34.cz the tags are BMW models, and the top bar shows the number of articles for each.
  • Every site has RSS and Atom feeds, a sitemap for search engines and an llms.txt file that tells language models and AI search engines what the site contains.
  • Articles carry schema.org structured data (article, breadcrumbs, organization, website), so search engines know who published an article and where it belongs.
  • A site can be multilingual. Serviska.eu has a Czech and an English version, linked to each other for search engines with hreflang tags.
  • Articles can have a comment section, and readers can register.
  • An edited article can carry an "updated" label with a date, so readers can tell the text has changed since publication.
  • A template can include search and a light/dark mode switch, like the magazine on chatujme.cz or the Serviska blog.

One system, different websites

Every site has a different template. E34.cz looks like a printed magazine with bold headings and a bar of models, the Serviska blog is dark with search and topic tiles, the serviska.eu product site has pricing, a gallery and an FAQ, and nks-hub.cz is the studio's own presentation. At first glance they have nothing in common; underneath they share the same features: articles, categories, feeds and the sitemap.

NKS Web runs all nine sites in the Content websites on NKS Web group on the home page, plus the serviska.eu product site, the client site infinityhair.cz and nks-hub.cz. You can tell without access to the admin: all of them send the X-Powered-By: NKS header. Our NKS Eshop is built on the same technologies, but it is a separate application with its own admin and database.

Working with it

The system is written in PHP on the Nette framework, with Latte templates. Editors work in the admin, which has pages, articles, categories, news, files, users, contact form messages, redirects and site settings. Page content blocks are edited in a visual editor.

Content is also available through a REST API. An API key has only the permissions it is given, for example read-only access to traffic data. If a permission is missing, the API names it in the error message. On top of the API sits the public MCP server nksweb-mcp, through which an AI assistant such as Claude Code manages content: 49 tools for pages, articles, categories, news, files, users, redirects, settings and traffic. The X-Tenant header switches a request to another site, so one MCP server serves several sites.

We measure traffic with Rybbit, without cookies. The API returns overviews, most visited pages, traffic sources and breakdowns by 14 dimensions, such as country, browser, device or UTM parameters.

Who it is for

  • Companies that want a website with articles or news and do not want to deal with system and plugin updates.
  • Publishers with several sites who want one admin, one API and shared features for all of them.
  • Editorial teams that want to write through an AI assistant while keeping permissions under control.
  • Clients who need a multilingual presentation with a blog and do not want two systems.

Project status

NKS Web has been running since 2025. It is our own system, not a boxed product: you cannot create a site on it by signing up; we deploy it, together with a custom template. The core code is not public; the nksweb-mcp MCP server is public under the MIT licence.
